£7.5m Crown Indemnity Insurance for flying drone near MOD land

Hi There,

I am due to film some shots with my DJI mini 3 pro in June in Wendover woods, very close to RAF Halton, I have most permissions but the MOD require me to have 7.5 million Crown Idemnity insurance and I am having great difficulty locating insurance that has this, any pointers would be greatly appreciated

Hi @GuyJan74 it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

Speak to our friends at Moonrock, they offer bespoke polices:

Don’t forget though, bespoke polices often come with a bespoke price attached - which you might want to pass on to your client

Almost like you fed the post in to Gemini and just copy&pasted the answer there, Trystan. :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

Try the British Model Flying Association for your insurance. It covers Crown Indemnity. Check with them to ensure it covers the level and extent of cover you require.

Well it wasn’t crap, it was factual. Just trying to be helpful. That’s all.

Why do you need Crown indemnity insurance if you’re TOAL’ing from Forestry England land? Do you intend on flying into the Halton FRZ and over RAF property?

Because the forest is in the RAF halton FRZ

I am a member of bmfa and, Well, i cant see a specific on crown indemnity

Here it is, in the Memeber’s Handbook

And here:

There’s the apparent answer, take it to the other associations forum for help

Well for the insurance, at least.

Bit late to the party but was just looking at a Coverdrone policy for myself and reading through the Policy Schedule in the Public Liability section, even if you’ve only selected £1million Public Liability cover, there is also clause which states: Civil use of MOD Airfields - GBP 7,500,000 - Any one Occurrence, so on the looks of things, that would cover you for what you need to fly within the RAF Halton FRZ when you’re at Wendover Woods.

If your not flying over crown land why would you need crown insurance? Makes no sence
