Having lived in Ingleton for nearly 10yrs, only last week I discovered that 6.5 miles away was Thurland Castle one of only a few remaining castles in the country entirely surrounded by a moat.

I never realised that was there. I’ve lost count of how many times I’ve driven that way and turned right instead of left on the A683 onto the 687.

Not only has a moat but looks in excellent condition as well. Nice capture.
Just as well since it seems to have been totally restored and split into apartments that have recently been sold, or are still for sale.

And I note also Grade II listed so no messing with the look of the place.
