A reference post by country?

So after my failed attempt at writing what I thought was a helpful post about my experience applying for the necessary requirements to fly in Portugal (I asked for admin to delete it as apparently there was already a lot posted about it previously)

My observation is whilst there is lots of information here
…. and everywhere else in the internet …… a lot of the posts are wandering and contradictory and over a long period of time ……including changes in regulations and process since the posts were written.

Applying for Operator Registration in the EU was far from obvious and far from easy ……despite all the helpful posts . I read everything I could find and a lot of it didn’t work (at least for me) for assorted reasons. I found my own way to do it which I attempted to share as what I read about didn’t work

Is there a desire to have pinned posts by country or territory (EU for example ) in a single post (which can be edited as things change ) with a definitive tried and trusted single method ? (Rather than trawling through page after page of old contributions )

My reference point is I live a lot of the time in Turkey : Someone has posted a definitive guide on how to do things here which are updated regularly and is a “single definitive truth on best practice and updated as knowledge and practices change rather than a rambling thread you have to read all the way through spanning many years and changes in legislation and rules.

You are correct in as much as the regulations have changed over time.

It also seems very hard to get accurate information from official government websites.

Many countries want you to register with them and pay a fee.

Most countries ban night flights and some ban you flying over private property.

But which are which?

There are websites around, but these do not get updated and if they do, just seem to copy information from other sites which might have misleading information.

At one point, I did consider compiling accurate information, but now don’t bother taking the drone abroad as there are far too many restrictions compared to the UK.

So EASA doesn’t make it easier, it just adds a layer above every country imho.
