I went for my scheduled chemo and had an elevated temperature. I put it down to combined flu and covid jabs on Saturday afternoon making me feel crap on Sunday but better by today, Monday.
I was told that I was to be banged up in AOS (acute oncology services) for observation overnight after they had taken most of my blood for testing. I argued that I had no-one to look after Dogzilla, no cash or cards and wasn’t going to accept their offer. So I got stuck in a wheelchair and taken up to a locked facility for interrogation.
After a couple of hours and a Latte Macchiato, an egg sandwich, strawberry yogurt and orange juice I was patted on the head, given an antibiotic the size of a suppositiry and told to back tommorrow to collect my script from the pharmacy.
So I had it away on my toes double quick, my original plan to photograph the sunset in tatters. But plan B has turned out moderately well …
