Active Track on small vehicle (ride on lawnmower)

Hi,

I’m looking for some guidance.

I’m new to flying a drone and have been practising as much as I can. I have a Mini 4 Pro and use an RC2.

I was playing with Active Track yesterday and had no problems using myself as the focus (seen many examples on You Tube), when I tried to use the local groundkeeper on his lawnmower however, the drone wouldn’t lock on to the subject. I had a message saying that the subject had to be a vehicle or human. The drone remained static using POI.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance,

Mick

POI Lawnmower

This :backhand_index_pointing_up:

And this from DJI :backhand_index_pointing_down:

The DJI Mini 4 Pro ActiveTrack and FocusTrack features require the tracking subject to be a person, vehicle, or boat, with vehicles specifically referring to cars and boats referring to small to medium-sized speedboats or yachts. If the subject is too large (such as a bus or cruise ship) or has an unconventional shape, it may not be recognized and locked onto. Also, if lighting and other environmental conditions do not meet the requirements of the vision system, the tracking features will be unavailable.

Thanks for the clarification, weird that it didn’t pick up the chap sitting atop the lawnmower.

Just a thought - How would you work around this?

  • Cruise Control and POI?

Mick

can you lock on the person prior to getting on the lawnmower (or other)?

Hi @Neidermeyer it looks as though you’re quite new here :wave:t2:

Why not nip over to the Introductions page, and say hello properly and tell us a bit about yourself. :+1:t2:

Could you not just fly the drone yourself, as God intended?

Good shout! :joy:

Thinking outside the box! :+1:
