Advert

Its a rough cut - so I can polish, but I welcome feedback. I already know about the blocky bits on the final page where my info is - easily resolved. Its the flow I am interested in.

Please be honest, we always strive to improve.

Uneasy poking my neck above the parapet here but you did ask for honesty….
My marketing guy always says have focus in your advertising. This feels a bit scattergun and maybe no one in particular will feel it suits them. If I’m after a wedding why am I looking at industrial sites? Maybe you need to think about where potential clients will see this trailer and produce a few different ones for different sectors.
Unless this is just a general company overview, maybe targeted at shareholders, in which case I’d move faster between the different subjects as they probably know most things and you’re just trying to flesh out the feel good feeling they hopefully already have about you.
Feel free to ignore if I’ve missed the point!

All appreciated. No shareholders here.

Little old me, swimming against the tide.

Good luck & a Happy New Year!

Just my tuppence worth here. From the start the text doesn’t suggest a professional business, I’d get yourself a decent looking logo. I’d also suggest speeding it up a bit, shorten the clips to about 2 secs each, making it faster and snappier. Aim for a 30sec advert. Edit the video to the beat of the music.

As other have said, I also feel it’s a bit ‘slow’…. The thing that struck me is that I seemed to spend a long time looking at a completely black screen during the transitions …. The images themselves are good, but the transitions feel lethargic …
Just trying to be helpful

Thats odd as I dont have black screens whenever I playbit back? There are a couple of fades in there but i will re watch. The first few videos wouldn’t allow me to add the transition over both clips, only to add it to the start of the clip which zi dont understand. But I can certainly shorten the clips and nake it snappy. Im going to change the music too and make a logo as mentioned. But away now till nee year. Ive posted on my local group’s already.

Ah yes the start is very dark. I can overlay the words onto.a moving background video. And theres a longer fade after the solar panels…

That 15 seconds of white noise at the start had me hitting the monitor ;o)

Honestly, it doesn’t grab you by the neck and drag you in. The music is unexciting and starts off too lethargic.
You should stick to one transition between each scene throughout.
Although the footage is well shot, all the chapters/scenes are also slow and a little uninspiring and like the music don’t grab you.

Sorry :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

No that’s cool, it was just a scratch together after a bottle of wine. Easily fixed, and upbeat music added…

After some thought, as an advert you would be better doing a 45second clip of each category, high passed and exciting to grab the attention of the viewer.
For the wedding a larger group of people interacting with the couple or the couple running down an avenue of trees.
For the building site, excavators, etc, in full action.
For the solar panels. A high-speed ascent.
The canoeists going down rapids.
For the house a high soeed approach rising up to do a point of interest.
These are just suggestions.
I would then just company name at the start, and links to more indepth examples of the individual subjects in seperate videos.
That way you grab attention. But don’t bore the builders with weddings or sports people with building. And they can choose a longer example of what they want to see.
Just a thought. Hope it helps. If not tell me to F off.

Just seen that I hadn’t replied to this, I did read it and took on board the comments. I changed the advert a few days ago and uploaded it in the other thread in the Q and A category - Advice on starting a business. It is shorter and sharper.

But I will go on over the coming weeks to remove the roof shots, and focus more on residential / business media / special occasions I think - more of the private and leisure and less of the commercial as there are proper companies out thee who offer proper services I can’t.

Have you removed the video its showing as not available.

That grabs you so much more than the original.

Thanks, still want to improve it. Its funny, just like photography and hot tub hire, seems everybody is doing this so getting momentum is tough. I suspect will be a long hard slog to get anywhere.

So true.
A few years ago it wasn’t so bad when a PFCO (permission for commercial operations) was needed to do any commercial work.
Now every man and his dog has a sub 250g drone and is doing a roof inspection.

Not only that, I hear most roofers do it themselves now which makes sense. The trick is being able to produce something.of quality. Any idiot can TOAL but find someone who is capable, professional, reliable and can deliver a decent service.
