Id need more batteries first lol.
Good ones are getting harder to find now.
Just a quick one (looking at @PingSpike or @macspite as they seem to be the inspire experts in my eyes)
Tried the second controller to use as the gimble control but it keeps giving signal error then disconnects. Any ideas why this would be?
Have you set the drone controller as “Master” and the camera one as “Slave” in the primary set up?
Have you got another tranny to try it with to eliminate the controller as faulty or not?
What if you swap them around (master/slave), same issue?
What firmware version is the drone? and each RC?
If one was an unused slave it’s likely not been updated and could be mismatched.
Turned out to be a cable issue between the iPad and RC. Found this out after resetting both controllers pairing them each to the drone and swapping the boards on the bottom. (Did this as though that could be at fault because they are emanating a lot of heat when the rc’s are on.
Me thinks I was a little close to a Inspire fail today guys.
took off to give the drone a small test flight to see how it handles compared to my mini 2 and P3P. Got the best set of errors in 30 seconds anyone could want.
Take off - fine got to 42M off ground
Forward movement - Seemed ok but then got " Warning: Motor Overloaded. Aircraft will decelerate to ensure safety" - ok reduce throttle and give it a second to disappear off the screen.
next message: “Critically Low Power. Aircraft Landing. Throttle up to reduce the speed of descent and use sticks to avoid obstacles”. 2 words here (Oh S*it) try to keep it up and free from trees. and then disconnected for 10 seconds.
all is good with the drone apart from a heavy landing. not sure if the battery is at fault here outdoor temp was 8C and drone reported back battery was at 22.9C.
Looks like you have some unbalanced cells in the battery there?
Fire up a new thread if you want to peruse that one, someone will be along soon to help.
For the motor overload, are all four spinning freely by hand? Any resistance on one of them?
@M6SSO Probably not what you want to hear but alarm bells ringing for me mate.
With its history and the issue your having I’d be packing it up and sending it back while you still can.
Motors move fine, Did notice under a desk light there are small cracks in one of the blades. I wouldn’t of though this would be an issue but just in case I’ve binned the blade.
Will open a new thread for the battery. in the drone as I write this to discharge and ill put it back on charge after to see if that helps.
will put these up to see your opinions on if the repair is “substantial” was done by drone Doctor in Brighton if that helps.
Is this the battery that had the failure and caused the crash? When you charge it does it go to 4 lights and then starts the 3rd light flashing?
Have you checked all of the motors for things like bent shafts, crap in the bearings etc?
If you’ve got more than 1 battery does it show the same motor message on all of them?
The worry for me would be the cause of the original crash.
Was it a battery failure or the issue you just had with a forced landing and clipping something on way down.
If you’d been over water when that happened it would have been a total loss.
I’d be asking the seller questions as it’s probably not been flown much since that repair. What was the original fault? What happened to the defective battery? Etc.
I use the 4 way charge hub so when I place the battery in there it turns on cycles the lights then goes (assuming battery is under 25%) flashing the light furthest from the power button (led1) and will follow though until all light go off and the hub goes solid green to indicate it has finished charging.
I’ll try and get back in contact with the seller to establish more details about the incident that caused it to be repaired. I’m also tempted to contact Drone Doctor to see if they can give me some more background on the condition the drone arrived to them in (if they are allowed)
Been there, done that. Second-hand airframes are comparatively cheap but it hurts to have an X% camera drowned in seawater
or a XT for that matter. that would hurt more I’d guess.
also may of found out a reason for the motor error. after looking back at the footage from the camera on my test flight I noticed the drone drop for a second to one side. After trying to think why that would be I think this may be the culprit.
I’m no expert, however I have flown my inspire on damaged props and didn’t get an error message, its just sounds different as the prop cuts through the air.
Give that video a watch he basically flys a MP with a snapped prop as a test.
Ok no reply from the seller but Drone Doctor were great. only things replaced by them were X3, X3 mounting and the centre frame. everything else is as original.
