Advice for first Self-Build (5")

Apparently yes it does, so closer is better but its marginal. I admit to replacing my capacitor with a 50v 1000uf when i moved it so that might make up a bit of the difference. That was mostly though to help with freestyle flying and punch outs (i read that, depending on your flying style, caps should be double the battery rating as momentarily it can receive higher than battery voltage making 35v a bit too close to the limit)

I’ve since fixed this and you shouldn’t have that issue as the frame has screws to mount it. I just broke a screw and had to improvise a little. The M1.6 screws don’t like my torque settings :joy:

Get yourself some spare arms for that frame, it will inevitably crash and if you do that over concrete you’ll be glad you stocked up in advance.

Stronger, thicker. Stickier.

Fair point. I don’t know if @RestlessZombi had the same issues but I came damn close to getting a mallet out to put the keystone in - getting that thing out/back in to replace an arm when I do snap one is a chore I’m not looking forward to.

and shock absorbing if the prop strikes it

It was a pain, move the arms around a bit though and it wedged in. Not yet needed to remove it and arm replacements don’t require it to be removed, just loosen the others a little.
