Yeah, that’s FB! I would rather not bother
Race to the bottom.
You are right, it is very difficult. I have been struggling to get any traction the last few months, I had some work ongoing but it’s fallen flat and what I am finding is that people are all just now using AI to capture basic media, shove it in an AI app and produce their own reels / mini ads, removing the need for anything from the likes of me. I have had a re think and now I am just going back to hobby / personal interest media creation with the option for people to use me if they so need. What I have learnt unfortunately is that estate agents are not trustworthy in the slightest. I have been royally messed about by those that have engaged with me and I am now done doing any work for them going forward. Small business, planned events and leisure is all good but I am no longer being messed about by estate agents.
Amen to that
I’ve mentioned estate agents in the past when I hear someone wants to start a buisness, i did it just for beer money ![]()

if I took it up seriously about 10 years ago I would have made alot of money and plenty of work.
But it would have been a short term.
Reason was when I had my first drone it was expensive and unbeknown to Joe blogs on the street how easy to fly as the £10 toy drones were nearly impossible to fly so put alot of people off to spend 1k plus to smash or flyaway in seconds.
I had all the estate agents looking for my service by word of mouth in a small town, then overnight drones got cheaper and every tom dick and harry had one with advertising popping up everywhere with kids just out of shorts charging very little and boom the estate agents calls virtually went to zero, then after after all these kids got bored and folded up there businesses phone started ringing and I said no FO I did as a hobby and don’t need the agro, if I did accept it would been short lived as estate agents realised buying there own drones is far cheaper route to take and in most businesses they do the work themselves or someone has a private drone to use.
My daughter-in-law is a professional photographer and artist and does weddings photos and I did one shoot with her and unlike her she carries 3 cameras as backup with camera plays up so continuously able to shoot the day, with drone I could get great still shots of the venue and of the couple but to get them great footage while there in groups was a pain in the arse and you cannot repeat anything. So first and last time as I accept my limited abilities.
My old life.
Still get asked by offspring of brides I did 30 + years ago.
Mention £1500 daily rate and they bawk
£500 on a cake or haribo sweet cart but not a decent rate for a professional who can do a job !
