Hi all. Anyone had any experience of the Parrot Anafi USA yet? I’m starting a new drone business I’m the new year, I have a Mavic pro 1 at the moment. Decided on the Anafi due to US China trade war and the concern that some future clients may not want DJI products used to record data. I’ll be doing structural and thermal inspection.
Have you already made your purchase?
The Anafi only has a thermal resolution of 320x256.
You could get an Autel Evo II Dual which is literally double the res at 640px.
Autel also make similar USA claims: EVO II DUAL detail – Autel Robotics
We have 2 Annafis on our fleet in work. Not flown it personally yet but from the lads who have it handles like a dump truck in the air (they are used to using the Inspire) not nearly as responsive.
No complaints about image quality. We hae the thermal cam on one used for building surveys and for our use it is sufficient.
Thanks for your reply. Not bought yet. I’ve read reviews on the Autel and it looks a decent bit of kit. May well consider it, especially for the thermal resolution.
Ah that doesn’t sound good. The response from my Mavic pro is superb. Be good to take both Anafi and the Autel for a test flights. Thanks
The response for all flight modes (yaw rate, acceleration, pitch angle, etc) can be adjusted in the settings menu. My main criticism is that the default yaw rate is incredibly slow, 10degree/second in film mode and only 20degree/second in sport mode when the yaw stick is at full deflection. When you do a firmware update all the rates go back to default and have to be setup again.
Nidge.
That sounds like a real pain in arse, surely you would hope firmware updates would make things better! Over here in the UK the price of the Anafi is over £7000, I’ve not seen the Evo II dual on sale here in uk yet, but I’m guessing it’ll be a similar price. Decisions, decisions !
The Evo 2 with the FLIR Boson 640x camera for the Evo 2 is USD$9,999 (inc tax) for the full rugged bundle.
Which is what, £7,500 or so these days.
As it’s for your business I’m guessing it’ll be tax deductible:
Besides, if you’re pricing your contracts well you’ll make your money back on the first gig or two
