Anyone else flown their drone, into their own face?

Whilst out having a bit of fun with my Avata2, I thought “Hey!! Let’s fly a circle round myself flying.”

The next thing I knew, there drone was on top of me and bang :boom: if flew straight in to goggles and now I’ve got a bloody swollen face.:rofl:

Not had chance to give the Avata a proper look over nor the goggles, but both are scuffed :face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Last weekend at the BM24, someone said to me “Your not having any fun, if you don’t crash it” but I didn’t expect to crash it into my own bloody face :crazy_face:

Ouch… At least with FPV our eyes are protected! I always try and fly as soon as possible above eye level.

Well done for pushing to next level. Hope you ok… And yeah Jez last week right into face hah

Goggles 3 have a small scuff.

The the Avata has suffered a few dents and the top panel has popped out

Anyone know if those torque screws come out and if the panel can be popped back in.

I hope so, because I don’t fancy send the video off to DJI as evidence for a Care Refresh claim :face_with_peeking_eye:

Yes watch this

Care refresh don’t bother with blame they just send you a new one

Guilty. 'Twas but a scratch! (fortunately). From now on, I’ll be launching at a safe distance. Especially now I’ve got the 5" back in operation.

Just watched the video… Orbit a tree next time for practice? Actually maybe a bush (easier to recover). You just flew right into yourself hehe. No one badly hurt all that matters, and a little care refresh takes care of it lol

Yeah @clinkadink flew his mini 2 in a 60mph plus storm on a one way trip to get a speed record (impressive stuff) and care refresh was honoured. Stupidity is accepted with CR!

Been able to pop the top panel back into place.

Recalibrated both drone and goggles, then sent her up for test flight.

**All ok, thank goodness ** :+1:t2:

So other than the scuffs, everything if good.

A part from the black eye that is now developing

After the test flight, was just packing everything away and realised the Goggles 3 have split, were the black plastic on the underside, joins the dark grey of the main body.:face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth::face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Does anyone know if Care Refresh covers the goggle too?

I am pretty sure it doesn’t

This may explain why I couldn’t calibrate the goggles.

I’ll give DJI a call tomorrow

Yeah unfortunately not.
