Are renewal emails sent for your Flyer ID?

My flier ID is due to expire in the next few day. Can anyone tell me if you are sent a renewal notice or not.
Thanks.

Yes, reminder emails are sent.

You can renew here:

https://register-drones.caa.co.uk/my-registration

I certainly never got an email. I’ve renewed now but only by chance. I thought it was a10 year thing but I suppose that was a stupid thought

If it helps, the emails are sent “from”:

civil.aviation.authority@notifications.service.gov.uk

Various subject lines, including:

It’s time to renew your drone and model aircraft operator ID

It’s time to renew your drone and model aircraft flyer ID

Remember to renew your flyer ID today before it expires

Your drone and model aircraft flyer ID has expired, but you can still renew

Much as we might moan about CAA, they do send a fair number of emails to keep people informed.

:flushed:

If you did your registration through BMFA or other accredited organisation, then you get reminders from them. Generally you tend to do it at the same time as your membership renewal is due so you’re on the site anyway

I got an email from the BMFA that they couldn’t renew my CAA registration, I phoned the CAA to confirm my details and it turned out after all these years I’m two years younger they had my date of birth wrong.

The lady thought that it’s the BMFAs’ error but on contacting the BMFA it all turned out it’s the CAA database…

These things happen…
