Ashby-De-La-Zouch Castle

A break in the weather (and baby sitting ) led me to take this short video with a bit of history added.

Crashed my brand new at the time mini 3 pro here. :joy:

Oh dear. What did you collide with?

Tree. I was being a cocky twat doing low orbits at 5am in the morning when it was closed. I had to climb over the fence to retrieve and off to DJI it had to go. :man_facepalming:

@firstadekit That why I stick to 30m min unless I can see it Ade (which I can all the time of course :innocent::rofl:). Did u do a vid on YT?

I just had a quick look at English Heritage’s drone policy. Quite strict, needing GVC qualification, risk assessment, flight plan and technical details of the drone used, etc, etc . Did you go down this route or take off outside their property Col ? Was thinking of going up to Wingfield Manor, which I know is run by them, but taking off outside their land.

@JockyB Hi John. Yeh… fully aware of EH policy, which is why I took off outside their gates along a public path about 30ft from their ticket office at midday!. I’ll put in a DS entry if it’s not already done. I always do a quick once round high up before I fly around to see what’s in the way so to speak. Pretty quiet too in the week so less hassle. Their was no FRZ or SSSi or bylaw I could find so up and away.:+1:My advice is to do the same. Check before you go on DS, Check the FOI available for the local council etc and if ok go for it. Take off outside of EH boundary and there is nowt they can do, but if you want to risk it, you could TOAL discreetly on their property with the risk of being evicted if your challenged. No big deal!:rofl: Have fun and publish your video for others less fortunate to be able to visit these places for themselves :+1:

Yea, nice views Col m8.

Paul.

@Bilbo Thx Paul. I enjoyed this one a lot for some reason. :hugs:

Another corker, Col  The location, flight plus the history on top, really makes it pop. Fascinating stuff and well done on the narration :+1:
