I’m assuming a proper image as it stores both the JPG and the DNG.
Will check and report back.
That’s impressive.
Not a lot of cameras can do video and photo at same time.
Does it use the settings you have set up for stills or just an auto snap?
Ahhhh, good spot!
I just went to check the res and actually, it doesn’t store both!
A normal photo in photo mode is 5472x3648 and a photo snapped during a video is identical res, but there is no DNG to go with it.
So yes, as you suspected, it’s simply pulling a jpg of that frame.
Which is good to know early on
Which is also a bummer as it means I have zero DNGs from today’s test flight
So again:
So - a takeoff pad too.
Any tests on tracking or POA modes?
No mate, today was just seeing how it handles manually.
Flying to a 10% remaining …
(100-10) / (100 - 30) x 23 = 29.5 mins
4k max - atm. Not sure about Studio version, though.
Which translates to “flying around totally aimlessly = 30mins battery life”
Also interesting…
Will have to check the specs of FCPX.
Resolve is used for big movie stuff - so, either it needs the Studio version, or one of their own video cards (also needed for multi screen).
I’ll save you googling … you can’t afford their cards!
According to Apple:
- Mix frame sizes, frame rates, and formats in the same timeline — with support for 8K resolution and beyond
8K and beyond?!
Confirmed - Resolve Studio does 8k.
$300
Someone has to pay for the people to have free version.
Good to know, two options for handling 6K video are on the table then
But - you have nothing to watch it on. You’ll still upload to Vimeo @ 1080
If the lens/sensor are up to it - good for cropping/pseudo-zooming.
All depends where you go for your copy…!!!
It’s mad eh? When I got the 5K iMac I was thinking… 5K?? WTF??? And somehow, in a scarily short space of time, that screen has been superseded by a drone?!
Crazy shit man.
When, eventually, Vimeo accepts 8k … it will take longer to upload than the flight that created it.
