I’ve emailed them and asked if I can return my Evo II for a refund, or trade it against a v2
Sure enough, the day before yesterday, the Evo II v2 appeared on the FCC database: https://fccid.io/2AGNTMCA2458A
Cannot believe a company could do this. I know DJI have their faults , but guys this in no way acceptable… Anyone who has the EVO pro should be given a full refund , or a free upgrade. EOL in under a year is NOT acceptable in any way , forms or means.
Looks like the new unit has been on test since September 2020 - which would mean a lot of customers have been intentionally mugged into buying the current units.
Sadly, it looks to me like Autel are in serious trouble. This is a desperate, kamikaze move by a business which is either sinking fast or about to be sold.
This recent Glassdoor review does not sound good.
I’m kinda glad my EVO II developed a fault and was returned, I think I would be spitting blood to have bought a drone that was EOL with less than a year production.
Me too. I had the option to upgrade to a v2 EVO when my original 4k v1 died recently. So glad I resisted. Autel are now in the extraordinary position of not having a single supported model in their EVO lineup. What are they going to sell in order to keep the lights on?
A post was merged into an existing topic: The differences between the Autel Evo II “v1” and the Evo II “v2”
You couldn’t write it eh?
Shame is it happens everywhere.

And a new Smart Controller V3 has just appeared on the FCC database too.
and
Sure enough, shiny orange things are around the corner.
A new, smaller, “Smart Controller SE”:
The new SE controller is 800nits, unlike it’s big brother which operates at 2000nits. It’s currently only compatible with the “Evo II Pro v3” from what I can tell so far.
Autel are starting to copy DJIs poxy naming convention
They’re also launching an updated Smart Controller v3 too, which is also only compatible with the “Evo Pro II v3”. It remains at 2000nits.
This is the third time Autel have changed the radio / transmission chipset in the Evo II now. Chip shortages still?
Again, the only difference between the Autel Evo II Pro v3, v2 and v1 (drones and controllers) is the radio chipset used in each. All other specs are the same across the range.
Apparently there are 6 new variants of the Evo II v3 …
