Avata 2 DJI RC Motion 3 issue

Hi I have just bought a used Avata 2, it was demonstrated to me and it worked well. When I tried it at home, the rotor start and take off are all good, however when I press the trigger on the RC Motion 3 it rotates at each press of the trigger and won’t go forward just rotates ! Any ideas?

I think you have to press it harder to make it go forward, a small press actives the yaw by tilting the motion left or right

I’m testing in my garden, could do with going to a larger space for a better test.

Definitely with the Avata

Wow, 2nd hand AVATA2, well done!

The guy was a serial tech buyer! My problem is that after take off al the trigger presses just make it rotate in Yaw. It flew perfectly when I went to buy, I’m pretty sure I’m doing something wrong !

Here’s the manual try page 35,

Check out these Videos

Pretty sure you have to go past the second stop before it flies forwards… go out to the park and try it - good luck!

Send it

Hi I’ve calibrated everything, the only bit I’m unsure of is when you take off and hovering @1.2 m the first press of the trigger causes it to rotate but the full trigger it moves forward in the direction it’s pointing. Its as if the 2nd point of the trigger stops the rotating and it moves forward. Is yours like that ? Thanks

No, because I have Motion 2, not the 3

But what you describe is correct, watch these videos

I’ve checked the video again, it says whilst hovering press the trigger to the first point and you can tilt the controller to position your drone and the seconf press it moves. Mine rotates the drone at the first press without tilting the controller.

Then I would say it is faulty

Are you wearing a smartwatch?

Just tried it indoors, made the sure the controller was bang on vertical and it appears OK, perhaps over sensitive conroller settings, I’ll look into the settings. I normally wear a Seiko Quartz divers watch which has solar charging but no smart features. I did have problems with my Mini 3 Pro when wearing a smart watch in the past. Thanks

Bring it to the meet next week, I can test-fly it for you :+1:

Sorry we’ll be away in the Peaks then, I’ll be at the next one thanks

Just joined this Forum/Club is I noticed a post regarding the Motion controller for the Avata2.
I have been an owner of Dji Drones for more than ten years, and this is the first time I appear to have got a dud!
At Xmas i got an Avata2 fly more combo, andvits only been in the last few days that i have got round to unboxing, setup, and registering.
Following the usual binding and firmware updates, and given its completly different nature to my other drones, not least being the hand controller, i only initially attempted inside, a take off, and hover etc. However i did also notice the motion side of the controller didnt seem to be working, as well as the problem mentioned previously in this post.
Today Following another attempt, but with the same problems, i attempted a known fix by recalibrating the controller- Compass/IMU/Controls. This proved a little problematic but eventually all was complete.
I then powered up the drone and attempted a liftvoff and hover, but instead the drone went berserk flying backwards at full speed, and flying completely out of control.
Having spoken to Dji customer service, they have asked me return the whole product to them by their selected courier, and as the product is effectively brand new they will asend a complete new replacement within 1 or 2 working days. This is my first time ever having an issue with a Dji product, so I sincerely hope it goes as smoothly as they say!!!
As a final point, now whenever the controller is powered up, it is completely inoperative, and just amitts a continuous beeping sound.
I would certbe interested if anyone else has experienced anything like this…
Thanks in advance…
