has anyone ever installed the NLD 2.5W Bi-Di Signal Booster/Amplifier (NLD 2.5W Bi-Di Signal Booster/Amplifier Kit v2 for DJI drones-nolimitdronez.com) in an Avata 2 ?
According to the NLD Discord channel, it should work. Has anyone here had any experience with it or can say anything about it ? On the NLD website, only the original Avata is listed. There, you have the option to choose an amplifier for either the FPV Controller or the Motion Controller. But the Avata 2 connects directly to the goggles, not to the controller (see picture).
So far, I haven’t found any FCC hack or anything similar.
Just the method involving the empty file on the goggles (which didn’t make any noticeable difference for me).
The Ham file absolutely increases the RF output if you are in CE areas.
It’s a dramatic increase in RF power for CE users especially when in 5.8ghz mode.
If your not seeing a difference I would questions if it’s being done correctly or are you already in FCC area. The file must be saved in the specific way and placed onto the SD of the goggles.
Very simply to check if the ham file has worked go onto manual channel selection, set bandwidth to 40Mhz and check if you have 3 channels available.
If you have 1 channel you are in CE.
If you have 3 you are in FCC
The ham file only gives CE users more power as FCC already has full power.
I’m sure I did it correctly. Once I’m back home from holiday, I’ll double-check it.
In my case, whenever I fly into or around a building, I experience signal interference very quickly. Even the range in open areas is only a few hundred metres.
I can try that with the channel later, I brought it with me.
Do the motors need to be running for that? That’s something I haven’t quite understood yet.
I’ve just checked. On 5.8GHz I have 3 channels available.
Does anyone have any idea what else could be causing the limited range?
I’m used to something very different from my Phantom 4 Pro
