Avios Grand Tundra FPV

Mock-up has began, first the 03 air unit, the Tundra comes with 2 canopies, general use and FPV.

FPV has a cutout which is a perfect fit…

Next I’ll have to determine the position of the flight controller against the longest of the 03 wires, unless I make one up but I haven’t got the right climp tool.

Cut it in half and just solder and shrink tube some extentions in :+1:t2:

Nice work @Njoro . Be interesting to see how you get on with the O3 and iNav/Ardupilot? Would love an O3 in my wing, but holding off until DJI or WTFOS sort it out  wonder who’ll win that race

Thought about doing it that way which is something I’ve done in other builds. I want a neat finish, but as always I have a knack of complicating life…

Like this Vtx…

I added a switch and indication LED to my Air unit wiring so I can switch off the VTX independently to the rest of the plane. To stop the air unit over heating while waiting for sats :+1:t2: and just extended the wiring at the same time :+1:t2:

stagger the joints and wrap the finished loom will look good

That’s a good idea, I’m yet to power up so will keep that in mind…

Next I want to mount the Aduino in this void…but I’m thinking of it being recessed to keep the profile as normal as possible.

The above is a mockup…

Whats the Aduino for?

To control channel 7 and 8 for head tracking via Bluetooth in the Taranis TX.

Where will you mount the Re-Centre button?

I mounted mine using the Didgidapter so I can power it from the DJI googles power supply. :+1:t2:

Using AndyRC’s 3D printed mount found in the description of his video here:

It’s well over a year ago when I came across the Aduino head tracker, but can’t remember who’s video.

I bought the first board to mount on my Dji goggles RE but life happened that led to it’s shelving.

My old Fatshark’s has a tracker but never liked the wires dangling off the Futaba TX to immersionRC module.

I’ve got one or two idea’s on powering up but undecided.

Almost there, just need to fine tune for the board to be tighter although I can just use a spot of glue.

Lance is going to give Locutus of Borg a run for his money with this setup

Wait until I add some Knight Rider LED’s….

I looked at the goggles for far too long which led to neat installation OCD kicking in….:face_with_peeking_eye:

All done bar the reset button, these goggles have become far more useful with this mod now, cars, boats, planes, train set and walking to the local shop….

I’ve really enjoyed doing this mod…. :kissing_heart:

Is that a ublox GPS unit on that nano too?

It’s not GPS here’s all the information for this module.
