Avro Heritage Museum - Added to Everything Else in North West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Museum is on the old BAE Woodford site which is currently under development and turning into a massive housing estate. Just follow directions to the Avro Heritage Museum and park on the road outside.

From outside you can see the Vulcan XM603 and also Nimrod and VC10 cockpits

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 31/08/2022. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

Awesome shots :clap:t5:

Will the museum remain?
I live in Doncaster right next to the airport - current home of xh558.

Would love to go here

As far as i know/heard it’s staying.

Will be kind of odd seeing the Vulcan sitting there in the middle of a housing estate but i hope it does stay. I used to love the Vulcan at air shows.

I spent some time at BAE Woodford (as it was then) probably 20 years ago so familiar with it as an aerodrome. Even without the Vulcan sitting there i cant get over how its been developed and what used to be the runway is a kind of double lane boulevard through the middle of what will be a massive housing estate.

Makes a great place to fly your drone at the moment. Plenty of open space and i think the museum is closed on a Wednesday so you’re guaranteed to be able to fly where you like with nobody around. (opening hours say only open at weekends and closed during the week but they do group tours on Tuesday and Thursday).
