Bayard's Cove Fort - Added to Coastal Scenery in South West

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

This Tudor fort, built by the borough of Dartmouth between 1522 and 1536, contained heavy guns to protect the prosperous harbour town from attack.

It was the last line of defence against enemy ships that had eluded Dartmouth and Kingswear castles and the iron chain stretched across the Dart estuary between them.

Occupying a terrace cut from the rocky river bank, Bayard’s Cove Fort is picturesquely sited at the entrance to Dartmouth harbour.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 04/07/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location. Landowner permission may be required before taking off.

I was moored up overnight in my sailing boat right toward the entrance on that side on the evening and overnight of the 30th and 2nd. Did you take any shots in that direction on those days?

Hi crispark.. I just checked the date of the video.. 3rd July :frowning:

anywhere in these views?

My video that worked ( where these stills are from) is a spasmodic mess presently so needs editing badly.. the video I thought I’d carefully choreographed lasted seconds after accidentally stopping soon after starting.. 8 minutes of nothing.. will be back in Sept and definitely go to Dartmouth again and try to be more careful!
