BBC Norfolk drone panicmongering!

Story on BBC News website today about a NOTAM preventing flight below 2,000’ above Sandringham House during President Zelensky’s visit, mentioning in the strapline that those pernicious and evil drones have been seen in the area.

There is a permanent FRZ around Sandringham House and civilian drones are restricted to 400’ AGL anyway, so the invocation of ‘drones’ in this headline is at best lazy and incompetent sensationalist inaccurate and highly mendacious journalism (or what we refer to as ‘lying’ in our house) and feels like a part of a concerted media anti-drone campaign; drones have absolutlely no relevance whatever to this story. I’ve complained to the Beeb, but might it be possible for GADC. who will be taken more notice of, to approach them for comment? They should, in my view, not be allowed to get away with this misrepresentation of and slur on innocent law-abiding droners without challenge!

Where in the below article does it state that?

I’d have thought that Sandringham House would have come under the National Security Act, even if only for the times that Charlie is in residence there ?

Spotted it on the Guardian site today:

To be fair, probably not unreasonable for Zelenskyy to be more than a little nervous of drones. :scream:

Despite the report, the restriction over Sandringham House is currently only operational from December 1st to February 29th (and the first minute of March 1st):

But the separate one for Anmer Hall on the estate is always active:

I guess the journalists are just ahead of schedule and an updated restriction for the whole of Sandringham is on the way.

I dare say it does as all royal residences would / should do. But you’d never see a published list of all sites under the NSA for obvious reasons.

It’s the bbc so don’t know anyone who would take anything they say as being factual ,

And that’s the part of the NS Act any of us could unwittingly break. Yes there’s the obvious sites, military/ security etc, but you just don’t know if anywhere else has / could be deemed a no drone zone.:wink:

I know of one I passed and would never have thought it. It’s involved in defence / aircraft production, but the actual aircraft are not constructed on site.

Let’s hope DJ Fraudits flies his drone over it soon :joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy::joy:
