Beidou GPS satellite - Mini 2

Hi Guys,

Can anyone confirm if the beidou satellite is compatible with the DJI Mini 2.

Thanks.

Mini 2 can get its position from GPS, GLONASS, and/or GALILEO satellites, but not from Beidou.

Interesting that the Mini 3 has dropped GLONASS.

It only uses GPS + Galileo + BeiDou.

Thanks for letting me know.I noticed they were turned off in UAV Forecast settings I will turn them on .:+1::+1:

That’ll be possibly why it takes so long to get a fix.

Wouldn’t have thought so - my old MP only has GPS/GLONASS and that’s never slow getting a fix … even after some time not using and being in a different location to when last used. eg - Scotland 2 weeks ago.

I was referring to the lack of GLONASS as the reason. All my drones with Neo M8N gps module which include GLONASS get a fix quite quickly compared to the mini 3.
My mavic 2 pro and zoom are positively rapid in comparison.

The speed of fix is far more related to the number of satellites available, rather than the GNSS system.

The M1P and M2P/Z are the same - just the 2 GNSS systems, so always fewer satellites available than for a 3 system drone, whichever 3.

Satellites currently active

GPS - 31
GLONASS - 24
Galileo - 24
Beidou - 44

Dependence on Russian assets has become a liability.

That’s been the whole Galileo/Beidu raison d’etre.

You can probably enable Beidou acquisition if you can access the full parameter list of the Mini2 via the Drone Hacks desktop APP.

I enabled the Beideu constellation on my Spark some years back before DJI disabled the advanced parameter options in their Assistant Software. After the mod it was common to get 25 or more sateites locked within a minute of powering up.

I have just read that some Beidou sats are more or less stationary so in some parts of the world the count is low
