Bennerley Viaduct and Parkland - April 2021

Went flying yesterday with @notveryprettyboy @DeanoG60 @Howard78 at Bennerley.
For those who have not yet made the trip here’s a taster of what a great site this is to fly.

@speatuk Sorry you could not make it Steve, I hope you’re feeling much better today

I’m still having problems. The dvr recording I use is 720p in a .ts format.
I have to convert to mp4 using ffmpeg, then edit using shotcut, then watch youtube savage the remains.
But at least the blurriness matches the 70’s tv show tune that some of you will remember

Cool vid Steve :sunglasses: Looks like a fantastic venue to fly :+1:t2:

Nice bit of flying there Karl :ok_hand:t2: I want to learn some tricks like that mate. But of course I have to learn to just actually keep it in the air first

It’s easy. If you go upside down, put the throttle to zero, then put it up again when you’re the right way up

I can do it on the sims but there are no consequences when it goes wrong on the sims lol also think I need to change my PIDs as the one time I tried a roll it didn’t turn very fast at all. Unfortunately I forgot to hit record otherwise would have had a nice crash video to post

Rates. Not pids. The rates are in degrees per second and its very much a personal preference. Mine are around 600.

Ah rates ok thanks mate, what are PIDs? lol I’m still getting used to all the terms of fpv quads
I’m not sure what mine is set at but the roll was pretty slow

The pids control how well the quad handles itself with respect to the gyro data. If there are wobbles or sloppyness, then the pids need tuning. But its a little bit of an art form.

The betaflight stock pids are pretty good, best to leave them really until you are an experienced pilot.

I will definitely leave them lol Its the rates I was thinking of. I’ll take a look this week and see if I can adjust them :+1:t2:

Just fiddle till you’re happy.
@DeanoG60 increase the rc expo to smooth out the small roll / pitch movements

That’ll be where I got PIDs from lol its under the PID tuning tab
