A small open public area set back from the road next to the Angel Public House on the corner or Bermondsey Wall East and Cathay Street.
A perfect first flight there straight out over the river Thames with few people around considering it was also a weekend. Flying is best at high tide due to an increase in low level bird activity during the low tide periods.
Nearest Tube is Bermondsey and parking will be difficult around the area as the majority of neighbouring streets are residential permits 24/7.
The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 26/03/2023. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.
I’ve added a take off marker which is the same location as the blue marker I initially added.
As for parking I caught the Tube and walked there. From memory a lot of the parking was resident bays only close by and I didn’t really pay attention to the time restrictions.
Thanks for taking the time to add more info. I am very, very new to all this. However I think the question about parking etc was automated, I just clicked on a button to say that I would like to fly there. Good news is that I did my very first flight this evening at that location. The light was beautiful. I actually live 10 mins walk away so it was really easy. I had one bloke approach me interested in what I was doing, very friendly, mind you he’d just had a pint in The Angel. Thanks again.
