With the onset of Droneritis in the ptnqmstr house, I’ve been thinking whether I should branch out to other platforms rather than stick with O4s, which significantly increase the price of builds.
I do like the pricing of these Betaflight P1 goggles and Air module:
I’ve been thinking of trying out analog, but could also go to a different digital system instead. P1 locks you in, just like DJI or Walksnail do, but £28 for an Air module and camera is a lot cheaper than £100 for an Air module and cam. O4 is still superior quality compared to P1 tho.
Most definitely in my view. As an avid DJI O4 user and O3 and original air units, there’s no beating the out of the box experience. I fly fpv FW for the visual experience. Nothing else comes close.
Not sure if it’s any help, Iv been a DJI boy from birth but recently got into analog which I said I never would, don’t get me wrong I love digital but having got into gorilla whooping I loveeee my analog set up.
Up to now I’ve brought most of my whoops, but just started buying/ and printing frames for them I think it’s a good idea to have a mixture of both. I started with a analog mod for my V2 goggles to make sure I enjoyed it before buying into it more..
Uhh, this sounds a little bit like the space I am in, but with far fewer years of experience. I’ve been thinking of branching out into either analog or a cheaper digital system like P1. I’m enjoying a lot of the Nick Burns videos on YT. I’m definitely a whoop fan. Analog is just such a confusing place, I find.
I’d like to start with a reasonably priced set of goggles, maybe 2nd hand, Radiomaster Pocket and a BetaFPV lite 65 maybe. I’m just not sure if the lower latency is really going to make such a big difference to me. I find choosing goggles the hardest. And because of all this, I thought, “Sod it, maybe a different digital system will suit me better!?”
if you keep your eyes on VINTED they had a Cetus on there the other day, stuff comes on there quite regular, I brought my first whoop off there and a shit load of batteries quite cheap..
I’ve had a look at these, but found some Eachine 800DMs for £90 on Bangood. I think that’s a good compromise. I’ll try and find a used radio and will probabaly add an Air 65 II to begin with.
