August you say? Just enough time to decide on what wing to buy and maybe even assembly/learn iNav…

I also really want one of these or something like it (anyone got an FPV 7-10" cruiser recommendation?):

i thought it was warm tbh, but that sleeping bag i have is cosy

Avoid the open-source FR7 it has strength issues, one plate in the frame needs to be thicker

I’m very happy with my AOS Falcon 7" the frame is well braced and incredibly strong.
Arducopter/Mission planner reports very little vibrations.

Hmmm, not flown AOS before. Any input on their BnF quality? Or are they always DIY?

This could be my chance to show off my Care Refresh Air 3 and to show it where its predecessor bit the dust :face_with_spiral_eyes:

So long as you’re filming and/or letting another drone film the mishap, you’ll get no complaints from anyone!

Best way to get footage of a previous crash scene is at ultra-high-speed while not even looking at the screen :joy:

Sorry Tommy, I only do DIY build
Though I did buy a Baby Ape once but soon changed it

Whe we do Upwood, I’ll bring it so you can have a look and fly

I’m so excited, I won’t sleep. Might be grumpier than usual, which is saying something

I had a thin blanket, still got too hot and ended up opening the door. The perks of sleeping in a 6x4x4 foot heavily insulated box.

Yeah mine was a well ventilated tent. Glad it was ventilated though as the smell of farts was pretty strong in the morning

They linger at the top of the tent, it’s only when u sit up in bed it hits you , like smelling salts

It was whilst I was taking ( admittedly drastic ) action trying to evade a highly agile FPV drone that my ‘mishap’ took place :face_with_peeking_eye:

However, I still can’t quite believe just how much I can look back on the whole sorry saga and yet still have a grin on my face

In this hobby, you have to learn to laugh at it, otherwise you’d cry. I laughed when I binned that, knew when we found it, wouldn’t be prettier. I think laughed harder once found it!

We may have sorted our accommodation for this meet, it’ll be confirmed by the end of today. Stay tuned

So very very true…even Angie said to me that it’s not the sort of hobby for the feint hearted or non adventurous!

I’ve just tried booking off the Friday and Monday for this but the system at work won’t let me. Already got two engineers off in England!!! Might see if they can let me have a half day on the friday to travel down and just be at work, frazzled, on the Monday. Even better if they can arrange a job for me to cover Northern England on the friday seeing as we have two guys off? If I can get an early finish on friday I could get down late evening
