This is a sad picture, Birmingham wheels used to have a lot of things going on. Two go card tracks, one for the advanced and one for the beginnners. This has been closed and as you can see with a cash injection is not too far gone to be restored but I doubt this will ever happen.
The entrance is now sealed by big yellow gates… they put more up
Just in case you miss the fact there are some big yellow gates…
The buildings are not in a good state
Also on the same site is the motorcycle training centre where I went to get my CBT and bike training before I took my test. This is what is left of the training area, looking closely you can see the painted on roads and islands where people would ride bikes round. My first two days i was supposed to ride a 125cc bike. Those who have seen me would imagine how I would look on a 125cc. My first day (legally meant that I had to do the first part on a 125cc). Doing a U turn my instructor told me to “just do it any way you can”. I could not turn the handle bars as they were hitting my knees. So imageine a 6ft 4in tall person with one leg pointing sideways from thebike just to be able to turn the bike round. My instructer was just taking photos and laughing. After I had passed that section I was to go out on the road. My instructor told me that I was not safe going on the road on a 125cc. He upgraded me to a 500cc YES!!!.
The 2nd day it was me and the instructor. My car did not start for some reason so I went on my bike. (Not advisable to go to the training center learning to ride a bike and turning up on a bike that you are not yet legal to ride…I was told to hide it. On the way home my instructor pulled up next to me at an island and as there was a gap he leant over and turned the key on my bike and shut the engine off lol. He rode off laughing.
Sadly there is also not a lot left of the training building…
Some of the markings on the ground
Other parts are starting to show signs of overgrowing areas
Looking from above we got a view of the skyline of Birmingham
