I was down seeing my old folks last weekend and took my Black Friday purchase of a Canon R8 and lenses with me. Had a run to South Gare with my dad and captured these with the RF100-400mm and was amazed by the speed of the autofocus and the cameras eye tracking - it’s certainly come a long way on since my last DSLR.
These are straight from the camera so no PP’ing or even cropping.
I was in a hide at a “local” WWT reserve struggling to capture a kingfisher with my trusty old D700 & 300 mm lens whilst a couple of blokes with modern mirrorless cameras (a Olympus & a Sony) were getting fantastic images every time. Could select a programme for the subject, press the shutter & wait when a the bird flew past the camera took a burst of images all perfectly focussed & tack sharp.
