It’s that time of year when I put a picture of Hayling Island Sailing Club on the forum.
This is looking SSW toward the Solent, the low land mass on the right hand side of the horizon is the Isle of Wight. The club is foreground, left and is situated on Black Point or, on some maps Sandy Point which also the name often given to Eastoke Point which is the curved tip of the Island at the Harbour entrance on the left of the picture
My house, on the Sandy Point estate, is about centre of the picture, Sparkes Marina (advertised as being at Sandy Point!) is middle right of the picture with Fishery Creek extending WSW and almost cutting off this part of the island from the main section!
There is a touch of confusion about where exactly Sandy Point may be. When asked what sort of animal Dogzilla is I tell people she is a Sandy Pointer …
