Would also be a great add to Drone Scene
Ok great was not sure thanks
Great video and it looks so inaccessible so how far away we’re you to get such great shots??
Hi was half way up just from the main road the side where the tower is is private and they don’t like people going to the tower it’s used to be public right off way till the new owners bought the land :(((
Ah right got ya if that was up here in Scotland you wouldn’t have that problem once again great video buddy and look forward to seeing more
Thanks Ian
Nice work! I’ve commented on the YT video, but again, it’s good to see you’ve written up what can be found out about its history.
Thanks Simon I did subscribe and thanks pal - yes I like to find out the history as people overseas like to know the history when watching stuff from overseas
If it’s a right of then it is just that A Right Of Way, the new owners can go F*ck themselves.
I believe there builders the owners who own that side of the tower and not very nice people people say .
I’ve just looked on OS maps, there is no right of way up to the tower itself, Road on one side and paths on 2 but none to the tower itself.
On the main road is a public walk with a style over the wall takes you right up the field but the tower is on the other side of the wall . I parked on gisburn road that’s the way I got to it
Always the best thing to do is consult an OS map, plus the older ones can show if there was previously a right of way that has been removed. I like the National Library of Scotland ones to see back in time.
Rights of way have to be used in order to maintain their status, some unscrupulous land owners put obstacles across access points to make it difficult to access, then if they can show a path isn’t being used apply to have it removed. They are allowed to make reasonable adjustments to protect crops etc, but not block completely.
I know of this being attempted - the Local Authority Rights of Way officer is responsible for things like this. I’ve also seen footpath signs on styles, gates, etc, disappearing. I’m wandering off topic now I suppose.
