Blackpool Tower and Promenade at night

Hi Everyone,

Here’s a short video I shot last month featuring Blackpool Tower, Promenade and also the Central and North Piers.

Shot using a DJI Mini 2 and edited in DaVinci Resolve 18

The quality of that tiny sensor in such low light conditions just never ceases to amaze me :clap:t2:

It far exceeds what it should be capable of. Fair play DJI :man_bowing:t2:

Was this your first night flight @WorldInFocus ?

It’s a amazing little drone. You can’t not be amazed by what it’s capable of.

@PingSpike Yeah, it was my first attempt at a night shoot. I chose the wrong time to do it. It was early June and the sun didn’t go down until 22:00 and stuff on the piers were closing so I couldn’t shoot what I’d planned. I’m going to try again in September when the sunset is earlier and i can shoot stuff on the Piers and Promenade. Plus the Illuminations will be in full swing.

Cracking footage that Ian👍. It defo looks like it’s been shot by a more expensive one.

I know what you mean about the time of year, I wanted to get blue hour and sunset at the Mersey Gateway bridge about six weeks back. I finished at around ten to bloody twelve🤣.

Blackpool is on my radar but a little later in the year:rofl:. PSPO’s in place or not .

Great little vid :+1:

Hi Leylo1971,

Thanks glad you liked the vid.

Looking at the stuff about the proposed PSPOs it looks like they are investigating green spaces like Stanley Park and local cemeteries. Hopefully they are more interested in things like drinking and drug taking than the odd drone. Stanley Park has a much bigger issue with dogs being off the leash and killing the local swans.

That said I am planning to do some flights around Stanley park in the next couple of weeks just in case they bring in a PSPO.

Hopefully nothing will be done to stop drone flights on the prom.

Cheers,

Ian C
