Blackpool Tower and the ‘comedy carpet’

A vertical look at one of the most iconic landmarks on the north west coast. Standing at over 500ft high here is the view from 400ft the highest I could legally fly.

Pleased that I managed to get it in all one shot too.

What a good video, single shot as well. Question however, what were all the vehicle adjacent to the comedy carpet?

They were coaches. I think there was some event going on in the Winter Gardens and they use this area for parking. Thanks you kindly for your comment on my video

@Bilbo Lol, yeah they must have just cleaned the glass floor

Blackpool Coach Rally

Brilliant video. I live in Blackpool but haven’t tried this with my Mini 2 … yet!

Cheers Brinderz. I’ve been meaning to go for some time now, but every time I was off work the weather was pretty crap. I will be back again sometime this year i’m sure to get more footage.
You’re lucky enough to live there so get out as much as you can, but there is lots to film, Just be aware of the flight restrictions in the area.

Hi. Yes, I do get out as much as I can. A constant problem with Blackpool is the wind. No wonder it was referred to as “Windy City” by C.B. radio operators back in the day! :joy: I frequently get high wind warnings when flying my Mini 2 on the Fylde coast.

I am aware there are two airfield restrictions just south of Central Pier (Blackpool Airport and Warton aerodrome).

You should have come to the meet last Friday it was the most perfect day for flying :grinning:

Nooooooo! I didn’t notice this and I could have come too. Oh well next time. :+1:
