Well it’s been like a month since I’ve flown, and today I got out there again! And flew loads of times with my wing, but my favourite past time is chasing planes, and boy did I have some new ones to chase today (unfortunately not the Drak as promised, but… hey ho!)
The AtomRC Penguin, nice slow, easy to chase with Aron at the helm!
The bloody tiny, white and manoeuvrable little nano goblin on maiden day, thing just went like mad (flown by Gav!)
And Gavs Alba Bird, a thing of beauty, and speed (we were 90+ mph for most of this), what a great plane!!
Filmed nearly entirely on my AOS O3, but a little DJI FPV in there (I flew 3 packs on that, and 3 on the avatar, not that that has chance to keep up with these two!)
Think only one short clip from the DJI FPV tbh in there. Need to learn a little colour management (other than fading to greyscale, haha)
Oh mate… you not wrong, scrubbing in real time from 120fps 4k footage… with no pre-processing… a little blown away ngl!
Why thanks, chasing planes is one on my faves. Need to get a decent camera setup in my wing with stablisation, and show more of that. though Gav’s skills with the planes far outweigh mine, the number of times he was skimming tree’s yesterday and I was expecting to record a tree top “landing” hahaha
Chasing things in the air is one of my fave things to do in this hobby yes! I do like flying those wings too, but my footage isn’t as exciting as a good old fashioned chase. I recommend wing chasing to anyone
We didn’t actually do any formation flying with planes/wings Sunday… Always next time!
Some of the footage from the Alba bird (not flown by me), but you can see my drones (once FPV, and once AOS O3) when he looks over the wing hehe, cool. He was going to do a better edit, especially of that inverted loop I forgot to put in my footage!
