Im on me holy bobs at the mo and dont get much of a chance to throw the old Mavic Mini up so I thought I would take it on me hike along Hadrians wall.
Just started me assent up to the wall when I noticed a bloody no drone flying poster, WTF is that about ?. I really dont understand what the issue is as there isnt that much to see, anyhow I thought sod em iv just paid a fiver parking so up it went…
As anyone else come across these signs ???.
Like the New Forest National Park down here, it looks like you can only fly from private land within the national park itself… Only with the land owners permission.

Yep, i pretty much ignore all those signs to. I just take care where i take off from.
Probably the doggers in the car park.
Actually I thought the wording of the park’s web page was a lot “softer” than some others. They don’t try and say “no flying”.
They say “Where you stand and where the drone takes off from should be land that you have the right to be on”, which I would interpret as pretty much anywhere in the park. Granted they say you should have landowner permission, but I doubt anyone would likely enforce this if we’re being sensible and responsible.
I agree in that it is a lot softer in wording than others… Regarding enforcing it, just be careful no byelaws are lurking around. There’s always a jobsworth out there.

I flew around Birdoswald by TOAL from the AirBnB I was staying in. Litchi got it there and back, and got some nice footage.
I was at a higher altitude than I wanted to be because I needed to keep the drone in sight from its (lower) starting point.
@BigDog ……I found the Northumberland National Park policy quite drone friendly, I often fly in Ingram valley never had a problem but I only fly when it’s quiet , however I’m pretty sure that Hadrian’s wall is managed by English Heritage, so you need to adopt the same procedure to fly as you would over National Trust properties , avoid TOAL from their land
