Bloody weather! ... and flyability

And there were some good ones

What is the difference between having your hand inside Katy Price’s bra and being caught inside a Skoda?

You feel a bigger tit in a Skoda !

Now, even I knew that driving around in my dad’s old Lada was not cool, just a bit sad…

something worse than that..( the Johnster might have seen..) a Moskvich :face_vomiting:

and why did old Skodas have heated rear screens? To keep your hands warm when pushing them!

Moskvitch, produced in order to make Lada owners feel better about themselves. One of the drivers when I worked on the railway had one, and would give lifts; I never felt safe in it, pathetic handling, poor brakes, and a rustbucket. I think it held the title of cheapest on-the-road new car available in the UK for a time. Another chum, this one into Land Rovers and offroading, had a Lada Cossack, and reckoned the off-road capabilities were pretty good for the low price!

Few years later I had a brand new Yugo (because I needed a car and I didn’t have much money) which was pretty basic and never going to impress anyone, but within it’s limitations actually wasn’t all that bad, and was 100% reliable while I had it. It was certainly better as a driving experience than the Lada had been, and a lot better than the secondhand Metro that replaced it, probably the worst car I ever had the misfortune to pollute my existence with!

Cripes - Florence atm ..

I remember some bad floods there in the early 60, full on disaster lots of people drowned. Hope it’s not so bad this time!

It’s that hot, apparently ..

More than 20°C in the garden. Real air temp >18°C.

Yup, been in town today, cardi off and stowed in the rucksack and just a t shirt; wish I’d worn shorts! Very pleasant, very much a feeling of the first day of spring!

Wear shorts n sandals yr round, can’t stand long trousers.

-5 this morning, still too cold for shorts up here, at least for me.

I think about putting trousers on when it approaches-10. Though - 5/6 is about limit for sandals especially if there’s snow on ground.

Im a cold tattie, was born in south africa and never got used to the cold, despite the fact I have lived in scotland for over 40 years!!!
ps, sandals are for girls, and jesus

Socks today were a mistake; if the temeratures keep rising I won’t wear them until the autumn. Most of that time will be in shorts as well. I have no objection to manly ruffytuffy gnarly trail sandals in warm weather, but Jesus sandals or hippy sandals are a no-no. Plimsolls and basketball shoes/boots are ok so long as you don’t have to walk far in them!

I like to dress light, for comfort. Part of this is because I’m fat, and prone to sweating if I’m doing anything energetic (like getting out of bed), but even when I was younger and in pretty good shape I sweated and didn’t like wearing suits or uniforms for work in summer, and I didn’t look good in them either. I’m retired now, and don’t have to bother except for funerals.

Ventusky tells me there is good drone weather coming early next week, Sunday to Thursday, so I’ll be making the most of it. Bit overcast on Saturday which is a shame, as it’s the Spring equinoxial tide, 42’ at Cardiff at 19.15 just as the sun is going down. Hopefully it’ll brighten up, and I’m thinking of Clifftop Park on Penarth Head for the views.

Have you got a working drone now @TheJohnster ?

For once awake early (5 am) & relatively motivated, thought ooh I could go take some pre dawn/sunrise shots of tower (Blackpool), check airport weather station , surface level gusting 27 knots (bft 7), bollocks, stay in bed, don’t fancy trying my new toy, mini 4 pro, at 400 ft in that (did yesterday but only at 50 M at Roddlesworth reservoir).

The weathers a pain in the but at the moment, glorious sunshine so wanting to do stuff, but blowing a gale ( ok strong breeze). It’d be better chucking it down.
