Bloody weather! ... and flyability

Clear, bright winter day, frost or snow on the ground and light winds.

Magic!

Just a shame that the light fades so quickly.

It’s noticeable with the DJI FPV. It’s even more screamy than usual.

hell yeah, I’d take that any day! but like you say I’d love for it to be winter this time of year for all the added day light :ok_hand:t2:

That’s on a par with “why doesn’t the sun shine at night when we could really use its light”

I’d rather go for sunshine and 30℃ from 6am to midnight - gentle rain from midnight to 6am … all over the world.
Famine would be eliminated and we’d all have excellent suntans …
… and daily hangovers from all evening BBQs and booze. Every silver-lining has a dark cloud. :stuck_out_tongue:

And high blood pressure and alcohol dependancy and obesety

Nah. Too busy sunbathing to bother with them. :stuck_out_tongue:

I see you’ve made changes to the house in preparation for the heatwave …

So - now I know what that noise was last night …

I’m happy up to 40°C … but I might duck out a little before this …

I was in in Al Ain (UAE) one day when it was the warmest place on the planet. 52 degrees.

Hot

It was 44C in southern India when I was out there paragliding … and, after loosing lift and landing in the jungle I took out my new (primitive 2000 B&W screen) GPS gadget - I packed all the kit into the 30kg backpack and strode out for the nearest “road” 3 miles away … only to discover, when I got there, that it was a river.
Walked all the way back and then another 4 miles to the real road.
I got the colour version of the Garmin when I got home. Wasn’t going to do that again.

Golly gosh! … and lucky people. Avalanches travel far further than one would expect.

Look out, Cambridge!

Out of interest does anyone know what the hottest temperature ever recorded in the UK was? And when that was?

Hence “Look out Cambridge”.

Also in Cambridge? What are the odds!?

38.7C can also fuck right off.

I don’t remember there being a mental heatwave just three years ago  :man_shrugging:

I don’t believe forecasts - as you know.

It may max out at 38 … or 44.
It might be Cambridge or Aberdeen.
It might be any day.

The local 40+ I posted a few days ago has been downgraded to 28.

What a waste of money weather forecasting is.
