My farmer friend has wheat mixed in his barley (that’s ready to harvest). The wheat is about 10 days behind the barley … and way too moist to harvest. The average is still 22% moisture (needs 15% or less). He needs the extended dry, and the accelerating heat, to get the overall to target before there is rain - or the barley falls flat.
One of my guys was in the south east earlier in the week doing some soil sampling, he said everything was scorched already, ground was cracking, all manner of irrigation going on left right and centre round that way. Madness, we’re only the 2nd week of July
BBC News : “The government has issued a national warning for extremely high temperatures when they may reach 40℃” … along with images of people slapping on sun-screen.
Firstly - shit loads of other countries and people have to experience far higher temperatures every year - but since we don’t give a shit about “other countries and people” it’s never been news worthy.
Secondly - the need to sun-screen is fuck all to do with temperatures … you brainless twats!
