Blue Hour, Winnersh Triangle

A work trip on Thursday into Friday afforded a ‘blue hour’ opportunity to fly the DJI MINI3 Pro early on Friday morning, a little wind and cold, but the pre-dawn sky and reflective buildings of the Winnersh Triangle (on the outskirts or Reading) bade me to fly and see what I could see…

It was only a very short flight, 6 minutes all told, but sufficient to give me some footage to have a play with and put together a short video that may inspire others to take a look at places they have nearby and try and do something similar - or better!

14 minutes walk from my house (I know because I’ve cut it fine getting the the station opposite a few times) and I used to work in the Arena building when it was Microsoft’s UK headquarters. The plumbing all ran up hill, so the toilets were… unpleasant.

Technically, my house is in shot at about 1:30 - but there’s a lot of stuff in the way!

If I had known that then there could have been an opportunity for a meet up, although it was a busy couple of days, so no real opportunity this time, but maybe in the future…

Have you tried havign a fly there?

Stay in the Premier Inn there when visiting Friends

Yeah, the Premier Inn is a better option, I have stayed there before, but we are on a budget drive atm, so the Travelodge saved a few £, and tbh it was ok…

It would be daft for me to stay in either, although my parents have stayed in both (and the Premier Inn). The Bar & Block is where we have our staff Christmas party (table for two…) because it’s literally the only restaurant within walking distance of home.

I’ve been down with man flu for the last two weeks, so would have had to politely decline…

No, I haven’t flown there yet - but I can get most of it in frame if I fly from my back garden and my ‘underneath’ graffiti shots were underneath the A329M and the railway bridge that run behind the car park of the cinema on the other side of the roundabout.

Not to worry, hope the recovery from the manflu is progressing well, nasty disease that…

I’ve only had Covid once - and it was pretty much like that, but the tests said not.

Covid? What’s that ???

That is a great video!! Although I can’t, for the life of me, understand why you would leave your beautiful doorstep to come down here among us sassenacks.
Oh yeah, work. That’s a dirty word isn’t it. All I do at work is dream of my summer holidays on the isle of Mull :joy:

Hmm, beautiful doorstep, what in Manchester?

Lol, I know much of my video are from Scotland, but sadly I dont yet live there, although hopefully we will in the medium future… Until then I will make do with 3 or 4 trips North a year to visit friends and take holidays…

I’m so sorry. What do they say? Assumption is the mother of all cockups? Alright, I’m mixing my metaphors, but it comes down to the same thing.
I should have checked your details.
Sorry again,
Andy

No need for apologies, it is an easy mistake to make when I do post a lot of Highlands Footage
