Brancepeth Castle - Added to Historic Buildings in Durham, North East

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission requirements unknown.

Site has a public footpath to the east of the castle leading from the main entrance to the church. Parking available on or off site.

Emailed to ask permission weeks in advance but no reply.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 06/02/2025. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

Remember this place is a private residence. Last time I was there I was politely asked to leave. The owner knows his stuff about drones. Weights etc. He even said something along the lines of, If you fly over here you are clearly flying BVLS.
Nice enough fella and polite.

Hi. I was planning to fly here within the next week or two. I identified that, if you TOAL at the church car park, even flying to the far side of the castle is less than 300m. in addition if I circle the castle at 30ish m elevation under Article 16 there is nothing much the owner can do?

Let us know how you get on.
