Britannia Monument, Great Yarmouth

I’ve been wanting to capture this for a while, and managed to make it down this morning.

It’s the Britannia Monument which was built in tribute to Nelson between 1817 and 1819. Now sitting rather unceremoniously in the middle of an industrial estate…

Annoyingly, the pano shots I took were all from the wrong side of the pillar. Although apparently the figure of Britannia looks towards Nelson’s birthplace (Burnham Thorpe), so at least you can follow her eyeline :wink:
