Bucklers Forest Fire Tower - Added to Everything Else in South East

I have just added this to the map of places to fly your drone at Drone Scene:

Land owner permission not required.

Former Transport Reseach Laboratory site. Interesting mix of the remains of the test site - with a test hill and banked track - and forest, water and open areas. Parking is free, but the car park isn’t huge and can get very busy.

The originator declared that this location was not inside a Flight Restriction Zone at the time of being flown on 05/02/2023. It remains the responsibility of any pilot to check for any changes before flying at the same location.

This actually just came up on my Youtube, and I didn’t realise how much there is there to see! Will have to pay a visit.

(not my video)

I want to fly here @speedracer66, but there are no parking or take off and landing markers. Would you be able to add some to the map please?

I’ve added a couple of example TOAL points, but it’s a country park and usually virtually empty, so you can TOAL anywhere you like with a bit of caution and courtesy. Also marked the public car park. Its very small but there’s a bit of on-street parking around it.

Don’t forget to add your drone video/photos to the location on Drone Scene. :+1:

I may be barking up the wrong tree here. Bracknell Forest BC have responded to the FOI request and have a policy in place. See the link below taken from teh FOI response.

Freedom of Information Request: Byelaws, PSPOs and Policies Relating to Recreational Drone Use - a Freedom of Information request to Bracknell Forest Borough Council - WhatDoTheyKnow

I hope I’m wrong as I’d love to fly there being a local to teh area.

A policy is an internal thing, its worthless unless you work for them

A byelaw (or bylaw) is a local law passed by an authorised body like a local council that applies to the general public and carries legal penalties if broken. A policy is an internal guideline or principle set by an organization to guide daily decisions, which is not legally binding outside that group

Thanks. That has cleared things up nicely for me. I guess that I was being over cautious knowing how BFBC sometimes over react.

Thanks again.
