I’ve found some secondhand with a custom built quad for around 200. Sound like a fair price?
I just got some new goggles recently and was tempted by these for a while but ended up with Eachine Ev300o instead. Similar price (Attitudes were looking about £300 and the Eachine I think I found for £320ish) but they’re higher spec in almost every way, OLED screens and come with the excellent RapidMix receiver module which does magic signal blending like RapidFire, as opposed to simple diversity switching.
I can safely say they’ve made a bigger difference to my FPV experienceand ability than anything else I’ve bought or upgraded. Compared to my old cheap box goggles, I can see everything. Razzing along at 50mph a couple metres off the ground, I can see all the detail in the grass and have total confidence now. I’ve not tried DJI-type digital FPV and I’m sure it’s amazing, but this was such a step forward that I struggle to see what more I’d need in terms of image quality now. Just my 2p
Admittedly my previous box goggles were about as cheap as can be, but I was never confident getting right down like this at speed…
It’s a Chameleon Quad built by Quadcopters UK. This is the description
Hi guys, I had this FPV quad build for me by Quadcopters UK. It was professionally build and is running some amazing components! Using an XT60 connector and using a Futaba 2.4ghb receiver so it’s a case of BNF.
Obviously I wouldn’t try to learn with this quad just thinking as a package it might be worth a punt?
I’ve used the original Taranis X9D for the last seven years. It has been a great daily driver but is now semi-retired as a backup to my recently acquired Radiomaster TX16S.
The big issue for me with the X9D Lite S is the ACCESS specification. It will not support the still very popular D8 protocol nor can you use non-LBT receivers. The TX16S supports D8, D16, and D16LBT (Listen Before Transmit) standards, along with about another 50 different protocols. I wouldn’t be surprised if at some stage it will also support ACCESS once the encryption is defeated.
D8 protocol capability is essential if you want to buy some of the battery ready quads, as well as non-LBT SBUS battery ready quads, such as the Tinyhawk Freestyle without modding it.
FrSky were once the innovative kid on the block, first by producing affordable JR Style modules, but especially when they released the Taranis X9D. Unfortunately over the years they have not listened to their customers, instead they have done as much as they can to restrict the use of their gear for intellectual property reasons. Which is really ironic as they themselves started out by copying Futaba, Spektrum, and JR.
Now Jumper and Radiomaster are the kids being innovative and value for money. Jumper’s new gamepad style controller appears to be a hit. Bruce, RCModelReviews teased earlier today that he has some really good things to say about it in a soon to be released review. Radiomaster are also releasing a similar controller that will no doubt have many improvements over the Jumper controller.
Unless FrSky do something really radical for their user base I think they may disappear of most peoples radar.
I’ve got to shoot off to work but I’ll have a good read of all the replys when I get a break. I really appreciate all the input guys. Thank you
What do you guys think about a second hand set of Fatshark Attitude V5 with a Chameleon custom built quad (built by quadcopters uk) as a package for around £200? I’ve found it but need to make a decision in a few hours. Obviously the quad won’t be to start learning with but I could move onto it once I get the hang of FPV
Another question guys if you don’t mind.
Is it possible to use the DJI goggles I have on an analogue frequency?
I actually think that for the pair it’s a good price, depending on condition. I’ve used the Attitude V5’s and found them to be a nice goggle. The depth of contrast with the OLED screens was very pleasing.
If you mean to receive the video from your Tinyhawk? Not without a modification.
However there are ready made accessories that will allow you to connect analog receivers to the DJI Goggles, and custom antennas that fit the front of the goggles.
Thanks Nidge I’ll see if the price shoots up (it’s auction) but I think I’ll take a punt if the price stays reasonable, then I can just buy the tx16s that You and Deano recommend
Ah it’s an auction. Was going to say that £200 would be okay for the quad on its own depending on condition.
Thanks @Nidge
I have seen these as I have been looking around and found this one
It also says I require a fatshark module.
Would anyone be able to advice me on which module to get please?
Sorry, almost going in the right direction here?
Is this actually what I need ?
Sorry for all the questions

Eachine pro58
Mid price truedX
Best of the best: rapidfire
TBS fusion
I have the Eachine Pro58 in my Flysight Falcons. It is cheap and in standard form very mediocre. However there is a third party firmware, not free, that can be uploaded which dramatically improves the module and adds many new features. The upgrade procedure is not for the faint of heart as it requires some delicate soldering and the use of a STLink programmer.
For an easy plug n play option, if I were using DJI Goggles I’d go the Fatshark RapidFire route with the Digi Adaptor. I’m sure there are many tutorials on YouTube on connecting the RapidFire to DJI Goggles.
Anyone know if the digidaptor will work with dji goggles V2 that comes with the dji fpv drone.
I’ll let you know. I’ve just ordered one.
I know Steve I missed out Don’t know if that was a good deal or not?
You’re probably best not knowing now
