BVLOS Flight trials planned for new drone corridor

Thought this was interesting:

I wonder what implications this sort of thing is going to have on people who aren’t part of a massive commercial scheme?
Hopefully these big commercial operations will ultimately be pushed into new corridors above the 120m open category ceiling so they don’t break the airspace for the rest of us…

Surely the VLOS rules should apply to these ? Could this be discrimination against us hobbyists ?

Here’s info on the scheme.

If I remember right, the BVLOS drones will be guided by ground stations that will ensure they avoid other air traffic… that includes us.

i.e. They will avoid us and we can continue to do what we do as we do right now.

Of course it’s a few months since I read the info and I may have mis-remembered it.

BVLOS operations are permitted already under specific or certified categories, I know network rail use BVLOS ops for certain inspection work.
I assume this will all be in one of those higher categories too.
