CAA Consultation - Review of UK UAS Regulations

It’s a simple equation. “Will doing anything about this issue - and/or making what I’ve done/think about it public - win or lose me enough votes to affect my chances of re-election?”

Are the geofenced areas download by default? Or do you have to save that area as an offline map? Also, are the orange areas authorisation areas you can simply override?

And there are other manufacturers, but I’d hazard a guess 90% of users are probably using DJI products… But you’re right, other manufacturers should also ensure they geofence correctly or don’t geofence at all.

Were they using DJI? Because there is no chance it would have let them fly without unlocking it, and even if it was outside the main FRZ but on the flight path it will limit the height.

Must have been an online meet or something because I can’t say I’ve ever bumped into a ‘few other’ drone flyers except at a Grey Arrows meet. I suspect they may have just thought you were a Kevin so were having you on.

Strange way that unlocking works though. To unlock an entire zone takes virtually a few minutes, yet if you try to unlock a specific area within that zone ( a custom unlock) you have to supply the Flysafe website with the ATC permission to fly. No such permission required to unlock the whole zonethough ? I’d have thought to unlock any zone where ATC permission is required, should require that permission to be uploaded with the request.

Noice.

It was at portchester castle and yes, one group had a couple mini 3s and a mini 4, and the other guy on his own had a mini 4 that he got for Christmas.

Of the 18,290 reported drone “incidents”, many of those incidents were members of the public reporting seeing a drone, which was being operated by the police.

Wow, I can’t believe someone would phone the police just because they’ve seen a drone :open_mouth::open_mouth: “brr, brr, brr, brr. Hello police ? I’ve just seen a drone flying round my area and would like you to send a few officers to investigate please.” “ Yes madam, I think we’ll be able to spare two officers a week on Tuesday. “:rofl::rofl::rofl:

That’s hilarious, but (despite many of us trying) I am sure the CAA will not let the facts get in the way of a good story.

Makes sense really in the areas it probably used the most and in the evening and nighttime

I think more to the point they won’t let the facts get in the way of what they want / been told to do / already decided , sadly
