Caernarfon Castle – Power, Conquest & Legacy

A cinematic journey through Caernarfon Castle, one of Wales’ most iconic medieval fortresses.

Rising above the Menai Strait, Caernarfon Castle stands as one of the most powerful symbols of medieval Britain.

Built by Edward I of England following his conquest of Wales, the castle was designed not only as a fortress—but as a statement of control.

Over the centuries, it has witnessed conflict, rebellion, decline, and restoration… including the uprising of Owain Glyndŵr, and later, the investiture of Charles III as Prince of Wales in 1969.

Today, preserved by Cadw, Caernarfon remains one of the most visited and significant historic sites in Wales.

This film combines drone and ground footage with cinematic storytelling to explore the castle’s past and present — not just as a structure… but as a place shaped by history.

We had some issues with the weather and the pesky gulls, but got it done!! Hope you like it!
