There's a car park on Castlehill Road. Unless you have a 4x4, I'd park there and walk down to the Priory… I tried to drive down in a Yaris and got stuck in one of the potholes!

Was when I was there, yes. It’s about a mile down a track with one other building (a farm, I think) a bit beyond. I passed one dog walker on my way, otherwise just me.
No, just one other guy Joe. He was from the Friends of Cambusnethan Priory, who look after the place - Redirecting... The previous time I was there midweek, there was no-one about, but can get busy at weekends apparently.
