I’m going to have to go for the zoom one as can’t have a spark beating a mavic 2.

Ha ha! That was one day I will never forget - I was flying away from a storm cloud that literally appeared from nowhere and initiated sports mode in a bout of mad panic. The storm whipped up and acted as a turbo boost and I’ve never been so glad to get a quad back home. Sparky has not really been out much since I got my M2P - and I don’t aim to repeat the experience
This mornings attempt in seriously calm skies, not so much as a breeze, even at 400ft…
More parameter tweaks needed ![]()
Or as you said, a proper windy day ![]()
Tweak parameters to enable ATTI mode, then wait for a damned good gust of wind. #DroneSurfing
It’s tweaked a tiny bit higher than the recommended values for GPS++ / Sport++ at the moment and much like the Inspire did, it’s gotten reeaallll twitchy up there!
To the point where the excessive tilt angle looks crazy as it flies overhead.
It needs a very controlled decelerate, rather than just letting go of the sticks and it hitting the brakes. I have visions of it doing head over heals somersaults
But for such a small craft it accelerates like you wouldn’t believe!
Sooo close!
We can now ![]()
Leaderboard updated!
You’re already a Speed Freak badge holder for your Inspire 2 record @mickydd ![]()
Let us know if you beat your own record, for either drone, and we’ll update to suit ![]()
Anyone else got a drone that isn’t on the Leaderboard??
Cheers Rich @PingSpike
Do I get a butt clenched badge for this. @PingSpike
The losing signal bit and having to SAR. not the speed record.

Well done, Dave

Great that you fly

Steve
5 posts were split to a new topic: 1st flight after lockdown
You’ve not beaten me yet
There’s no Mavic Air 2 on this leaderboard…
@ianinlondon having seen your recent full-throttle video… hint, hint…
@PingSpike Yeah but all the DJI drones are speed limited these days… No more 60mph with the wind…
That’s the beauty of being the first to post a speed record for a new model drone @ianinlondon - even if you’re only doing 10mph you’ll get listed and get a Speed Freak badge
Then others with the same model have a target to beat at a later date
Aha! Understood… I therefore present my flight log from my maiden flight with the Mavic Air 2; max speed 18.52 m/s = 41.4 mph…
Awaits speedfreak badge…
Ian
@ianinlondon Another one boasting about speeding.
The drone police will be round to interview you shortly …
Imaginative!

Oops!
