I now have recovered my Potensic Atom 2 drone which inadvertantly hit a tree and fell into a river. It connects to the controller, camera works fine and even the gimbal keeps the camera steady, but it just doesn’t want to fly. It’s probably just nervous at seeing who’s controlling it, but I’m pretty sure something else may have blown.
Can anyone recommend a drone repair business that my be able to fix my little drone, so it may fly again? I’m in Spalding but happy to travel to a repairer or even send it through the post.
I did a search for a repair service and saw that GADC had a recommended repair business where you offer a discount too, and I was wondering if this was still going and if anyone had used it?
Just wanted to check whether you have had any luck with the repair? My Atom SE crashed yesterday and it looks like some of the plastic parts holding the camera in place broke. The drone still connects and seems functional, so would be a shame to write it off without giving repairing a chance.
To be honest I couldn’t wait for my drone to be repaired, so I went out and bought a new one, although this time I also got the Potensic Care package as well (just in case). My plan now is to either get it repaired at some point in the future (if possible) or simply use it for spares for my current Atom 2.
I did contact Potensic, but they would only help if I had the Care package (which I didn’t for the damaged Atom).
Thanks a lot for sharing. I got in touch with Potensic and now await their response. If they are unable to help, I will give it a go myself (assuming I can find the replacement parts somewhere), before probably ending up buying a new one as well
I have experience repairing electronics. Have a few kitbash FPV drones that I usually need to do some repair work on after each flight (If you don’t risk your drone what’s the point)
If you decide you’re unsure about repairing it though official channels then drop me a DM and I might find time to see if I can help fix it up. Love a good challenge.
Wanted to follow up on this, as I actually managed to find the cables via Aliexpress and surprisingly got it to work again after a few hours of tinkering. It was not an easy repair, but I am not too experienced either, so wanted to share that broken gimbals are not necessarily a death sentence for the atom
