Care Refresh not very refreshing

No, not with AirData, follow the links I posted, and use the free account

I am sure you have thought of the following. Not all USB cables are equal - a couple of mine will not recognise a connection. Alternatively could you ask a friend to use their MAC / PC / Laptop to get the data from the RC then transfer it onto a SD card and import the flight logs from there? Good luck today

Sorry I can’t help with the iMac as I have never had one, I’m sure someone here will have experience with them and be able to help. Or Google Connect RC2 to iMac.Good luck with your recovery attempt.

I know it’s a long shot (pun intended!) but do you know anyone with an air rifle? If all else fails that is!

Have you guy’s had a go at retrieving this yet? We need an update.

No need to ever connect anything to anything.

Use Airdata its free

All explained in Waynes post just up a bit

A big late for this particular retrieval, but if you know any willing fisherman, they often use poles out to 15m and beyond

Granted the ones with lots of reach aren’t cheap, but they could still be willing to give it a poke without fear of breaking something

Photos OR IT NEVER HAPPENED

There will be video .. not mine, though.

Does it still work?

The fall from the tree - hitting a branch on the way down - has broken an arm.

But at Least @Nikonitis has the drone to process for Care Refresh .. that was the main goal, but obviously an intact drone would have been optimal.

it was well lodged in the tree.

Downward view it was almost invisible .. so much foliage.

One drone and .. a dog ..

Drone Rescue

Just one of the pics/vids I took whilst scouting out the drone’s location.

Some other video will appear at some time. :+1:

Replacing a broken arm is really not too difficult, especially if it is only the metal shoulder that is broken and only costs a few pounds for the part. There are lots of Videos on YT showing how to do this. May be worth considering if there is no other damage

Possible gimbal damage too. I’m sure @Nikonitis will have given it a more thorough check over when he got home. I was more concentrating on packing up all my gear, with puppy intervention hampering a little, and didn’t give it a detailed check.

Thankyou Ginner, appreciate your comment. I am so grateful for the help I received. It is a rare thing in my experience. Yes, as @OzoneVibe has alluded to, I did have a good look. The gimbal/lens is detached on one side as the drone landed hard earth, on the lens, (not a good thing!), and one of the arms has snapped inside the casing (wiring still attached). That said, the antenna arm wiring has to be messed about with and there has to be circuit board soldering involved, skills which I neither have not really want to get involved with. I’m not even going to bother getting a test report to see if it’s repairable, (impact damage notwithstanding) as the cost will almost certainly outweigh replacement. I’m opting for Refresh Express as we speak, so should be up and running again soon…

Yeah, Sounds like with that amount of damage Care Refresh is the way to go. Least with @OzoneVibe’s help you were able to retrieve it and so save you some money. All the best and mind the tree’s LOL

You couldn’t have worded it better, I don’t know which foot to walk on today after all the lumps of flint I walked over yesterday at the rescue backs killing me :sweat_smile:
