Hi all,
I’m travelling to Cheltenham to stay with relatives for a week (near town centre) and wondered if anyone knew of any good flying locations? I searched on the dronescene.co.uk map but couldn’t find any user-marked spots.
I note that Cheltenham Borough Council responded to a recent FOI request stating that they do not have any byelaws or policies prohibiting drone flying but that they “process applications for the take-off and landing of drones on our land under a special events / filming location agreement process.”. Which to me sounds like a polite ask but not legally enforceable.
Any help/thoughts appreciated or suggested locations appreciated!
Cheers.
I can’t help with locations but if you look at the county rights of way map you can check out footpaths, bridleways BOATs and the like which are all useful for take off and landing.
ROW maps, Drone Scene and Google Earth best TV as something to look at on long winter evenings!

Thanks. I have lots of drone map tools bookmarked but that’s a new one!
Any idea how to register for access? Couldn’t see a way on the page.
Cheers.
Register for access to … what?
If the link isn’t allowing you to the page then this is the link I followed from Google search

Ah, ok - thanks. The first link sent me to a login page but second one works. Cheers.

2 things jump out the frz and GCHQ (which is in the FRZ).
Lots of space apart from that.
Hope you manage to find somewhere.

Yeh, saw the FRZ on DroneAssist app. Will definitely steer clear of GCHQ
Thanks - will post on GA map if I find any nice locations.

Should definitely add to drone scene if you find somewhere looking a bit light around there haha.
